Thinking of you today

Dear Thomas,

I got your quick note this Monday morning when I had returned from classes.
Sorry to hear about the difficulties now for you.
There is always a risk when you bring someone to your room. There is always a chance that someone sees you bringing the Doctor in your room. And then again can hear something as well. They can always put their ear against the door to listen to some noise etc.
This is always the risk that you put yourself into.
I am very conscious of this in my own life. And also got some scares as well and to the point of being reported.
So I know the feeling and the situation that you are in.
Your Superior also senses something as well I am sure.

Well today is Monday morning and it is on the cold side today with the temperature this morning being 2 below 0 celusis. The word is not spelt correctly but I hope that you understand what I am talking about.

I went to Mass at St. John of God Church here in Cochabamba. The statue of Our Lady of Carmen is shown above that I had taken a photo of.
In this church which was at one time a chapel for a hospital that was runned by the community St. John of God. The hospital doesn't exist any more and the community iw working in another part of this city which I down't know the exact place.

The Church has Masses going on every 30 minutes or half hour each morning starting at 7:30 in the morning. There are four priests who attend this Church and each one has around 3 Masses to celebrate.

The Masses are for the intentions of those who have died in a family.
So a lot of people come to Mass and also to visit the various statues of Saints and also the Crucified Christ that comes from Chile and is known for its miracles.

I was thinking of you this morning.

So it is my prayer that you will be careful and not to put yourself into any difficult situation and especially with your Superior. You already know what has happened to your brother Benny and here in Bolivia with the Brother from Germany who is a member of your staff on the Council and considered your Brother as being useless which ia an awlful thing to say.

So this is what I want to say to you this morning. I am sorry to hear that it is still very hot in Northern India, where you are. Please take care of yourself.

Prayers and best wihes with love,
Frank

Good Samaritan

Dear Tom,

I have no idea where you are these days? Your Brother Benny told me that he has called you and no answer on the phone.

Today is the feast of St. Benedict and also the reading of the day is on the Good Samaritan.

That is being of service to others in needs. Today the society is selfish and doesn't have time to be of service even to parents.

As our parents get old, we find that they are useless and not worthwhile. That is our society today.

At least I know that you have visited your Mother and try to keep in contact with her and also with the Doctor in taking care of his needs and also his wife and son.

Some difficult times in life for you.
So I hope that all is going well for you in the new school year.
I hope that sometime I will be hearing from you.

your brother,
Frank

Good Samaritan

This photo I took this past week at St. John of God church here in Cochabamba, Bolivia.
This church has attracted a lot of people to come for various devotions, one of them being to the crucifed Christ.

Tomorrow Sunday is about the Good Samaritan. A story about being of service and helping others.

Your brother Benny is working in a nursing home for the aged.
They are neglected and not appreciated by their own children.
All of a sudden they become worthless and not useful anymore.
That is our Society today.

I am sure that you see it with the families of your own students.
At least you continue to have an appreciation for your own Mother and all that she has done for you.

There are many challenges or struggles in life today as you well know. We are faced with many of them. As we continue to move forward in our own lives their are a lot of obstacles on the road.

I do not hear from you now and I guess you are busy with your students and probably you have no interest in checking the computer on a daily basis either.

Well on this Sunny Saturday morning with the temperature being at 72 degrees F. It is cool in the morning but it warms up during the day time.

It really never gets very cold here. We will be having a lot of visitors here this coming week from Maryknoll, New York and the United States. They will be here for two weeks more or less.

So I am writing to you with the hope of hearing from you.

lots of love,
Frank

My Journey to Wisdom
by Joyce Rupp on Jul. 09, 2010

Once upon a timea child of happiness danced upon the land, knew friendship with the earthand celebrated lifewith her love of solitude and simple things.
Jacetan-DreamstimeShe grew into a young woman, whose vision of self was clouded, clothed with the complexities of insecurityand the necessity of leaving the hallowed wombof the quiet earth.
She walked into cities of strangers, straining her inner eye to catchthe slightest hint of the beautythat had energized her younger dayswhen she played upon the earth.
Days stretched into monthsand then years went by.She slowly changed by going deeper, deeper, into her Center.Never understanding why the desireto go deeper was therebut always knowing there was no other choicethan to follow at all costs.Darkness often loomed up largeagainst her searching journey.Risk and Truth became her companions.
She met Compassionand then Wisdom came to greet her.So close, at times, were these companionsthat she wept for their intensityand her unworthiness.Still, they walked with her,and everywhere she went, her companions reached outand blessed the people of her life.
She could only kneel in gratitude, offering her heart of praiseto the Divine Companionwho had faithfully kept the kindling of loveburning in her heart.
Thoughts from the Author
I share my discovered wisdoms with you in order to encourage you on your own inner way and to spark the recognition of your wisdoms that are waiting to be welcomed by you…. My hope is that you will gather the gift of time and take the journey to the inner world where Sophia (Wisdom) waits for you.

Wednesday afternoon

I took this photo two days ago of this fountain around 10 a.m. in the morning of Monday, July 5th. I had just finished having a cup of coffee at the cafe expreso.
I had written a few words to you today already and then I made a contact with your bother Benny on the Yahoo Messenger this morning.
I was in my office at the time and he was looking for some news on what is going on here in Cochabamba, Bolivia.
I told him that we celebrated the 4th of July on Sunday which is the independence dy of the United States and we had around 30 people present of the Maryknoll community.

Then yesterday Tuesday evenng, we had another meeting called the collaboration meeting which involves the Sisters, Lay missioners and ourselves as priests and Brothers.
He had a nice white shirt on and also he was showing is big cock but I had to tell him to be careful because anyone can come in the office without notice and I wouldn't have time to shut it down. So it is a little risky.
It is just like you in your bedroom and you have to be on the alert all the time just in case someone appears at the door. So it can be a tense situation. Especially when you are busy going up and down on his cock in your mouth. Or suck his balls.

I just had a brief sleep, I felt tired. We are having a lot of visitors in the coming weeks.
So it will be busy here. They are coming to check out the language school and also for interviews for the Maryknoll magazine and radio stations.

Your brother told me that he has no electricity which seems to be happening quite often in India. I wonder what causes all these problems. It could be the tremendous heat.

New York city had a temperature of 103 degrees yesterdau, the weather has been very hot.
For this time of the year in New York. The Queen of England was there yesterday to give a talk to the United Nations. It had been 50 years since she has been there.

Well this is all the news for now. Thinking of you always.

lots of love,
Frank

July 6th, 2010 11:00 a.m.

This photo of the Bolivian dancers in the plaza of Cochabamba. You can see a partial view of the water fountain.
It is now 10:40 a.m. on this Wednesday morning of July 7th here in Bolivia.
It is sunny and warm outside.

I have mentioned already that I have a problem with my credit card and I cvan't renew my account on Skype or even on Net2phone for making phone calls.
I really don't know what is the problem.
I am waiting from Maryknoll, New York to tell me what to do. Someone might be using my credit card which has been done before and they have cancelled it.

For this reason this morning that I put the time for making contact with me in the morning or in the evening. These are the times that I will be certainly on line. Unless their is a problem with the internet which I hope not.

I am thinking that you are now going out for your walk in the morning with the Doctor. Since he is now enjoying good health after his fall from the bike or motorcycle.

We have a lot of students here from the united States for a six week course in Spanish. Around 10 Jesuit priests or students here. There is alround 25 students here from the Un ited States as it is Summer up North.
In fact they are having very hot weather in the New York city area. In fact yesterdeay when the Queen of England talked to the United Nations it was 103 degrees which is very unusual for New York city. She had just finished a 9 day tour of Canada. She is Queen of Canada.

My Chinese priest friend called me up from New York city the other day and he said that it was very hot and he was only wearing his white briefs at his desk.
He had his door locked and so no one could enter.

For me it is difficult to be sitting at my desk in my briefs or in the nude. It would be enjoyable but there is always a risk of someone knocking at the door. So I really never feel relax in this situation and you mentioned that you feel likewise in your bedroom when you have the Doctor in your room. You never know who will be coming to knock at the door.

The other think is that you never know who in your community is observing you as well. A part of community life and also jealousy is involved as well.

Your brother Benny told me that he saw your brother in law who has gone to London, England. He had been away from the community for a couple of days.

Well this is all the news for now my Brother.

Dear Thomas,

This a photo of the Trappist Sisters monastery in Quilvo, Chile. I visited this monastery last January and also visited a friend of mine, Father George Peterson. A trappist monk. This monastery is near the town of Curico where I lived for a few years with other Maryknoll Brothers. I was teaching at the Catholic University at the time.

I feel a little tired this Sunday afternoon which is the 4th of July. We celebrated our Independence Day which was in 1776 from Great Britain. We had around 30 people with us and most were from Maryknoll, priests, Brothers and Sisters as well as some lay people. We started at 1 p.m. and our Maryknoll seminarian who is Korean American who did the cooking of hamburgerss and frankfurters. Also potatoe salad and other snacks that are related to this holiday.

I got an e-mail from your brother benny and he said that he brought a cake to share with the people that he is taking care of.And you are now getting ready for a new school year and i hope that your got some new students for your school.I went to Mass at Hospicio, the Franciscan Church this morning at 7:30 a.m. and I also helped to give out communion to the people as well. The old timer Father Remedio had the Mass. he is 80 years old and is from Italy. He has been in Bolivia for many years. On Saturday morning I went to the Franciscan Church of St. Francis of Assisi to have Mass celebrated at 7 p.m. for your birthday as well as for your brother Benny.
I then went to St. Dominic church for confession to Father Paulino a diocesan priest here in Cochabamba and he is always very kind to me.So it has been a busy week end and I was able to get some sleep this Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m.While I am writing this to you I am also listening to patriotic music from my home in Boston, Massachusetts on my computer through the internet. Which is http://www.wcrb.com/ and it is classical music that is played 24 hours a day. I don't know if you are familiar to classical music which would be so different from the music in your own country.I just finished also writing the blog for myself which I sare with you and send an e-mail on this for you and your brother to read.Well this is all the news that I have to say on this Sunday evening which is now Monday morning in India.
Let us pray for each other in that our friendship as Brothers continues to be strengthened this is very important as you well know Thomas.
Have a nice day now.your
brotherFrank.
with a lot of love
